Healthcare Transactions Group, Inc. initiated, advised on and closed the sale of the assets and operations of Genesis Works and Avancer, Genoa, Illinois, the largest private for-profit owner and operator of group homes and day treatment services to developmentally disabled clients in Illinois. Specifically, the sale included 18 group homes known as CILAs (Community Integrated Living Arrangement) in Illinois, and a Developmental Training Center (DTC).   CILAs are single-family homes offering round-the-clock residential services and supervision.  DTCs provide daily treatment and rehabilitative services from Monday through Friday.

The seller is one of the few for profit operators of a developmental training center in Illinois, plus one of the only for profit operators offering both developmental training and CILA residential services. The seller has been in business for over twenty-five years.  The company’s service area includes counties in northern Illinois near but outside of the greater Chicago area.  The buyer was a New York City-based investment group that intends to leave current senior management in place.   The transaction closed on April 1, 2015. Price and other details of the transaction are confidential.
